One of our Clients recently acquired a1968 Triumph TR-250. The car was in quite good shape, however it needed a little bit of work. We went through the braking system putting on new brake pads, rotors and calipers. We installed a Pertronix ignition system in the distributor to make the vehicle much more reliable. Rebuilt the Stromberg carburetors, and tuned the car.
Our Client is now having us perform smaller tasks like having the headlights changed to period correct headlights.

After driving the car summer of 2017, Our customer was concerned about the vehicle making a cloud of smoke upon first startup in the morning. So we surmised that the oil was coming down the valve guides into the combustion chamber when the car was turned off overnight. Our customer then commissioned us to pull off the head of the engine and have it gone through to mitigate the smoking problem.
Well we got the head back from the machine shop, and started putting everything back together. While the car was in here for engine service work the owner decided that the gauges didn't match. As someone previously sent the Tachometer out for service, and it came back looking like new. The owner decided he didn't like having one " Odd Ball" gauge; and had us take out all of the rest of the gauges and have them set out to be refurbished.
Well we got the head back on the engine; buttoned everything up and got the car started, and it ran like a champ! However there was a bit of smoke on startup, that would clear up after the car was warm. Our customer wasn't happy about the little amount of smoke; and had us pull the rest of the engine out of the car and rebuild the engine.
Engine going back together. We've attached the "new" factory overdrive transmission. We ordered for the customer a overdrive transmission built by Quantum Mechanics.
Some of the views you don't get to see when the car is all together.
It's time to start putting the car back together! We have a video , and lots of pictures!!
The customer wanted a classic looking radio, with ALL the modern conveniences of Bluetooth capabilities and usb connections. We found a Radio that fit his requirements from a company called RetroSound. Below are pictures of it installed. We ordered it from the company to have a Black face plate and black knobs as our customer requested.
Now that the car was back together and everything running GREAT! The interior all done and correct, we had the final clean up of the car before returning the car to it's owner.
The owner after having the car back for several months ; brought back to us the TR250, making a horrible grinding noise coming from the rear of the car.
