A new customer brought us his 1968 Opel Kadet for service.  Immediately upon arrival one of our technicians named the car Oliver; after the Opel Kadet on the Top Gear (Original Version) television show, that Richard Hammond drove.

Oliver was towed in barely being able to move on it's own power.  First thing we found was that the Front calipers had seized on both sides in front; thus needing to be replaced.  There began the odyssey of finding Front disc brake calipers and rotors for a 1968 Opel Kadet.  We later found out from the owner that he had somebody else do a disc brake "upgrade" on the car.  After a few hours of searching I nearly gave up.  Then we had a Opel GT towed in for work.  Since I'm now sourcing parts for two Opel cars, I try a little harder and have found a good parts source. 

Now that we got the car stopping good.  We're working on getting it to run a little better.  Installed a Pertronix ignition system in the car.  No need to worry about points any more with the Pertronix system.  New Spark Plugs and fuel filter got the little car running just fine.  Next the exhaust...
